Overview
New managers were promoted on technical merit, then handed a single all-day leadership workshop and wished luck. Predictably, little stuck.
I designed a twelve-week blended curriculum that interleaves short self-paced video modules with facilitated live sessions, giving managers time to practise each skill on the job between touchpoints.
The challenge
Leadership skills develop through repeated practice and reflection — the exact opposite of what a one-day event delivers. The program needed to span time without demanding huge time.
The approach
I architected the whole journey first, then built assets to serve it — not the other way around.
Spaced designSix themes over twelve weeks, each with prep video, live session and on-the-job task.
Flip the classroomConcepts learned via video beforehand; live time spent practising, not presenting.
Consistent presenterHeyGen avatar video kept a steady on-screen guide across all modules, fast to update.
Manager journalA reflective workbook tying each theme back to real situations they’re facing.
The solution
A full curriculum map plus a Rise hub housing all self-paced content, facilitator guides for each live session, and a reusable video system that the L&D team can refresh without a studio.
